McCoy didn't like the flash, but he is pretty cute!

Christmas Family Reunion

Try fitting 20 people into a small cabin and what do you get? The best family reunion ever. We spent three days having fun and rubbing elbows with each other. This is the first time since our wedding 2 years ago that we have had all eleven children, spouses, and grandkids together. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful offspring.
Aspen Grove up on Provo Canyon offers great family cabins and lots of snow.
Day one: tubing at Soldier Hollow - Jordan
Jordan's Fiance - Christine survived the onslaught of a very large family. We love her!
Traci (aka Granna) joins the fun and manages to run Matt all the way into the fences at the bottom of the hill. We were politely told that since it was our second infraction that the next crash would be our last and they would "cut our tags." I dragged my feet the whole last part of the hill. Can I help it if Matt is lead weight and flies like a bullet?

The spirit of Christmas

One evening David gathered our group and told them a Christmas story about giving. Then we all piled into cars, drove to Walmart and paired up for a heartwarming experience. David gave each pair of us a Christmas card with $100 cash in it. We wrote notes of Christmas cheer and then headed off into the store to find someone that we felt could use extra cash at Christmas time. Some chose families that strolled the isles but put few things into their baskets, others chose someone who looked down on their luck. It was a wonderful experience. When we got back to the cabin we each shared why we chose the people that we did. It was amazing how the reactions of the recipients were often viewed by others in our group and they could then share what they had viewed in the aftermath. It made our Christmas MERRY!

The Barnes and the Wood's on snowmobiles = SCARY!!

Ward Party - Polar Express

I am in charge of the Activities Committee in our ward - no small calling, but loads of fun. This year we did the Polar Express and everyone came in their PJs, sat on blankets and pillows, and sipped hot chocolate while we took a train ride around the world with music and dance performances. The culminating event though is of course, Santa. Look close at our Santa, and you will see the twinkle in his eye is David's same twinkle.

Bonnie (next door neighbor) is Santa's elf. Connor is just happy to have his part overwith (Guitars and singing Feliz Navidad)
Santa has a fetish for little girls, so he was in heaven.

Kissing Cousins

Sorry this picture is fuzzy (had my camera on manual focus for some reason), but here is our 8+ month pregnant girls waiting for the cousins to meet in person this month. We are excited to meet them!

Festival of Trees

Every Year, David and I go to Draper Convention Center and spend hours wandering through this huge place strolling up and down isles of decorated Christmas trees. The first weekend in December every year people donate these trees, sometimes complete with furniture, TV, basketball tickets, and more things than you can think of. WHY? They do this as a fund raiser for Primary Children's Hospital. Companies and wealthy individuals come to bid on them the week before, with price tags in the thousand's. Then they go on display for one weekend, and then are delivered to the winner of the bid. Most of the trees are donated in behalf of someone who has passed on before us - many of them children with heart wrenching stories. We ooh and ahh at the trees, stop to read some of the stories, shed a tear for the unknown individual who has come to life for us, and then move on to the next tree. This year they had some awesome ginger bread houses as well. Take a look...
This little girl has to be hooked up to a ventilator every times she falls asleep as she stops breathing. Makes us count our blessings.

Yes, this train is gingerbread
Gingerbread again!
