Gabe runs for Jr. Class VP

Running for office at Lone Peak High School is a full time job.  There are posters to make, interviews to impress people, group projects to do, more posters, and a 60 second video to produce, all before the real campaigning begins.  Here is Gabe's video hot off the press.  Vote for him.  Please.

Connor sings in Carnegie Hall, New York City

I used to get in Connor's car on occasion when we switched for one reason or another and hear the radio blaring the latest top hits.  Something has changed this year.  It still blares loudly, but the music is classical. He often challenges me, "Mom, name this music and the composer."  Sometimes I can do it, but often I cannot.  He either knows it already or looks it up later.  It is an obsession, albeit a good one.  He sings constantly, often checking the piano just to see if he is singing the note he thinks he is, in an effort to develop perfect pitch. When I pop my head into the study to remind boys to get back on task with homework, Gabe might be on Facebook, but Connor is listening to music.  It is a sickness.... a good one that I hope he doesn't recover from (well maybe a little bit).  His Chamber choir from Lone Peak High School traveled to New York City last month to perform in Carnegie Hall with several top choirs from around the country.  They, however, were the only choir to be featured, and below they sing their songs when they got back home to Lone Peak.  Sorry it was filmed on an iphone.  You will need to turn the volume up to hear it well.

This one's for you Grant

It was U of U vs. BYU on the rugby field at Rio Tinto.  BYU had an unreal first half and the U could not catch up, but the most fun (for me) is watching the team do the Haka.  I filmed about 1/2 of it here.  For those of you who are not familiar with the Fijian chant, this one is a BYU homemade version about the stripling warriors.
