Can you spell DIRT?

We all converged on Bayfield, Colorado last weekend to help Matt and Jessica put in a sprinkling system and get the yard ready for grass. We worked from sunup to sundown Friday and Saturday digging in dirt, picking up rocks, gluing sprinkler pipe, picking up rocks, moving rocks, stacking rocks, raking up rocks. Did I mention the rocks? Everyone gets a blue ribbon for lots of good old fashioned work.

Connor gets cow - wowed as an invitation to Sadies

This morning our lawn was covered in these paper cows. At Lonepeak High School proper etiquette requires that invitations to dances must be elaborate and creative. Now Connor needs to reply in kind. Any suggestions for his reply? (I'm "beefed" about going with you - hamburger on the door step, or "I'm honored to go with the creme de la creme" - cream puff delivered with answer)

Projects, projects... New Deck

The patio below the deck now has a solid ceiling with canned lights - it has become the boys favorite reading spot,

We added tall posts with lighting for the backyard.

The new solid surface has given us a wonderful outdoor room. Party on!

Building the shed

David, Connor, and Gabe add a shed to the house. Home for the riding lawn mower and garden tools. Translation: room to park 3rd car in garage now! I have learned that there are certain domains that women are not invited into. In fact we are not to even give an opinion. Garage and shed organization are on the list.

Bounteous Harvest

David has gotten a small garden box to produce amazing amounts of vegetables. We have been spoiled with homemade salsa (David grows, Traci makes), green beans, peppers, herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, cantalopes, onions, carrots, and of course the ever popular squash.
