Valentine's weekend and the calendar was crowded. David and I just got back from Arizona last week where he had back surgery at the Laser Spine Institute in Scottsdale. We had to stay a week while he recuperated (he was up cooking dinner for all the Wood relatives who live there the following day - hard to keep a good man down). We are still waiting to see if this was a good choice or not (include him in your prayers). For the heart-shaped weekend, we had great seats for the BYU vs U of U basketball game on Saturday, then took the older kids and spouses out to dinner and headed home to make desert crepes for both Connor and Gabe's group dates (Gabe's first date) for the Lone Peak High School Sweetheart Dance. Nobody has a better sweetheart than me. I just love this guy!

We sat across from Elder Perry (mid bottom) and Elder Nelson (not in this shot), and David says "Wouldn't it be a bummer to have to wear a tie every time you are in public?" The aspostles clapped for both teams, being the diplomats that they are, but I am sure they were secretly glad that BYU won.

We put on the spread for the after-dance fun, with each group taking a different table, with the noise and laughter in stereo for us in the middle.

Hate to burst your bubble Traci, but Elder Nelson went to the University of Utah. I went to East High with his daughters who also went on to attend the U. Elder Perry went to Utah State, but his father was senior class president and class valedictorian at the University of Utah in 1910. Knowing Elder Nelson, he would politely clap for both teams at the game and then save his real feelings for later at home. Even though most of our prophets and apostles attended the U, you probably won't see any of them wearing "Max Hall Hates Me" T-shirts in public. We are including David in our prayers and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
