A Coruna

This was a sea side town up north in the Galicia region.
This lighthouse was hundred of years old
Yes, David hates heights, but he risked his life
so I could get this shot.
The old church dates back before Christopher Columbus
OK, let's talk about cars: they are all compacts.  They drive like crazy people, parallel park in ridiculously small spaces, back into the smallest parking stalls imaginable, and below you can see that they leave NO space between them and the building.  Crazy.
Only in the big cities do they have department stores or large grocery stores.  People live mostly in apartments with neighborhood ma and pa stores, where everyone knows everyone.  Below is a neighborhood meat store where Spain's famous smoked ham is sold.  Notice the hams hanging from the rafters, needing no refrigeration.  The meat is sliced very thin, perfect for a picnic sandwich.  Bread is bought daily.  Yummy crusty loaves of bread....
It was fascinating to see this man at work.  He was educating Dave and I on the different kinds of ham (some are smoked for 2 years), all the while serving customers, asking them questions about their family and seemed to be everyone's best friend.  He did not need a college degree in marketing or customer service.
